Computer Technology is always in process of changing, new enhancements comes time to time, new processes are made to ease our daily routine tasks or simplifying the procedures and take place of the old procedures which have been in use for quite a while now, today we talk about the MS Windows boot-able USB creation, as most of the new laptops does not even comes with Optical drives, so there are two options left to install windows in them, either to use in-built recovery feature or install with External Media such as by hooking external DVD ROM/ or USB Drive
So what is the benefit?
Key benefit for using the USB based windows installation is it is fast, it takes less time to install as compared to installation from CD/ DVD, it also eliminates the possibility of data reading error, as Optical media such as DVD / CD get scratched and gives you error while copying / extracting while installation and can make hindrance in installation,
Today I would like to share with you a simple program which helps you in creating Boot-able USB Drive for windows Installation, it is a very basic and simple program and helps you in installing windows specially in new Laptops / notebooks which either does not have Optical Drives (DVD drives) common examples are new light weight laptops (ultra-books or notebooks) or they become faulty for some unknown reason and will guide you the whole process with step by step instructions :
So What are the prerequisites ??
1. 4 GB USB Drive ( Least size)
2. MS Windows 7/8/8.1 ISO Image
3. ISOTOUSB Software
Let’s Start !
1. Insert 4 GB USB drive, Make sure there is no data residing on the drive as it will be formatted during the process
2. You have already downloaded the Windows 7/8/8.1 .iso image, place it in the C drive (preferably for fast copying)
3. IsotoUsb is download and ready to be installed
INSTALLATION OF ISOTOUSB SOFTWARE:
1. We double click on the downloaded .exe setup file of Isotousb software to launch the installation
Click Next to start the installation
Accept the License Agreement by clicking on I Agree and click next (see figure below)
Select the Desired Destination for the software to be installed ( as it is a small utility it is recommended to be installed in C drive as it only takes 5 MB space) and click on Next to continue the installation .... (See figure below)
Select Start Menu Folder Name, you can change the folder name as per your convenience and click on Next to continue the installation and click on Next to continue the installation .... (see figure below)
if you want to have Desktop icon , check the box which comes in the next windows and click on Next to continue the installation .... (see figure below)
Setup is now ready to be installed on your computer , click on Install to continue the installation .... (see figure below)
After successful Installation, Setup completion window will come, select Launch ISO to USB to start burning ISO image on USB.. you can also finish the setup and create the USB later on if you plan to, uncheck Launch ISO to USB otherwise !
As software installation is complete now, now we move to the 2nd part which is creating BOOTABLE WINDOWS 7/8/8.1 USB DRIVE
This is the first interface of the software will come after you launch the program
>ISO File : Here you will give a path of already downloaded .ISO Image of windows
>USB Drive: Here you will select your USB drive on which you will install Windows
>File System: Here you will select your USB formatting type
>Volume Label: Here you will give your USB drive a "Name"
>Boot-able: This option will always be Checked marked for creating USB Boot-able
>Status: Tells you progress of whole writing process and completion message
For starting a Process Now Press Browse button to choose your ISO Image:
Navigate to folder where you have downloaded/ saved your .ISO image of Windows and click open (See figure below)
As your Image is successfully mounted, now it is time to select USB Drive:(See figure below)
On my system, "F" drive letter is assigned to USB (automatically assigned by Windows) , i will select F , USB total size will be displayed as well, so if you have multiple USB(s) drives attached to your Laptop / Desktop, make sure you choose the "RIGHT ONE"
Make sure that boot-able option box is checked marked, otherwise your USB will not be boot-able

One more thing before Last Step:
Disable your Antivirus Protection for a moment, as it will stop .iso extraction made by this software and result in failure on creation of boot-able USB
LAST STEP: Finally Click on Burn and USB formatting will be started !
Sit back and relax as it will take a short while to complete, depending on your system RAM and USB Size It may take 15 minutes to 1 hour to write:
After it is successfully written, Completion box will come up, just click OK
Status on bottom will also confirms the successful creation of Boot-able USB
As your Bootable USB drive is ready, you can install windows from it in any USB device boot compatible laptop / desktop, you need to change boot order of laptop / desktop to boot from USB device storage as earlier you use to select boot from CD Rom
